The Grand Tour, July 3. Bozeman,MT

Bozeman is an amazing college town nestled in the mountains with the amazing Museum of the Rocky Mountains.  Started and sponsored by the famous paleontologist Jack Horner, it is a "must-see" for the next time you are in southern Montana. Here is Hinstrum meeting a new friend.

Last night we camped  by the roaring Yellowstone River and reveled in the beauty of the the Big Sky Country.

The St. Paul gathering was a success and I want to thank everybody for coming, be they Max Milstein for walking two blocks to Karen Johnson for driving two hours from Duluth. Roeperians are such interesting people!   With Kevin Sawyer (former student) telling about his marketing work trying to get the electoral college reformed, Karen Dye (alumni parent and alumni staff member) explaining how diversity at Roeper is more organic and natural than at any other school, Pat Hurd (alumni parent, alumni teacher and alumni board member)  sharing memories about Gabe and Mary DesHarnais, Julie Migdal (our former school psychologist) detailing how she is counseling folks with eating disorders and Karen Johnson (current teacher) relating her language and linguistics teacher at Roeper, our time flew past but not before the group gave me tons to take back to David about how the school/community impacted them, how they made the transition after leaving, how Roeper differs from other school, and what Roeper might want to work on.

Here in clockwise order starting in the left lower corner is Max Milstein, Lori Migdal, Karen Johnson, Karen Dye (walked in about a minute after this photo was taken), Kevin Sawyer, Pat Hurd, Emery Pence with photo taken by Linda Pence

Here is the group posing in front of the cafe with left-over Thai food and Roeper swag, two of my favorite things

I hope to see everybody in western Washington at Seattle's Alki Beach Park, 6:00-9:00 PM on Friday, July 6.  Pass the word.
