The Grand Tour Blog, July 3, 2012, Bozeman, Montana

Bozeman is an amazing place with a gem of a museum called the Museum of the Rocky Mountains (Montana State U).   Started and sponsored by the famous paleontologist Jack Horner, you need to stop by and see this place.   Here is Hindstrum meeting a new friend.

We stayed last night camping by the roaring Yellowstone River and enjoying the great scenic beauty of Montana.   We are not in good FB or email range all the time so if you have to reach us please call at 248-230-0466 or 248-318-0386.

The St. Paul/Minneapolis gathering went extremely well and I want to thank people who both walked 2 blocks (Max Milstein)  and drove 2 hours from Duluth ( Karen Johnson).  What interesting people Roeperians are!   With Kevin Sawyer (former student) telling us about his marketing work trying to reform the electoral college, Karen Dye (alumni parent and former college counselor) sharing how diversity at Roeper is like nowhere else, Pat Hurd (alumni parent, alumni staff member, alumni board member) detailing her retirement and lots of civic work and volunteering, Karen Johnson (current teacher)  explaining what she is doing with language and linguistics at Roeper, Lori Migdal (former school psychologist) sharing her counseling work with people with eating disorders and Max ('02) recounting his legal work, it was satisfying to see how people have taken their Roeper values to the greater world.

When we started to talk about Roeper, I gathered a lot to take back to David about what the school did for them, how it differs from any other school, how they dealt with moving on from Roeper and what it might want to work on.

Here is everybody at dinner at Pad Thai Grand Cafe  (I highly recommend eating there, then going for ice cream at Iggy's and then going down the street to Garrison Keller's bookstore).

Max, Lori, Karen, Karen (walked in just after the photo), Kevin, Pat, Em & Linda taking the photo) toasting out new Head David.

Here is everybody outside the restaurant.
